Specialty Physical Therapy
Services in MissoulaPhysical Therapy
Whether you've recently been injured or you've been struggling with persistent pain or nagging injuries for years, our specialized Physical Therapy Services in Missoula may be the solution you've been looking for. At Inertia Physiotherapy, we are focused on one thing and that is getting you back to the activities and lifestyle you desire without pain or limitations. We start with an Integrative Evaluation approach that is based on your story and reflects your goals. (Read more about our Integrative Physical Therapy Approach here). Through your evaluation we identify of the root cause of your pain, injury or movement problem. Once we know exactly what we are treating, we carefully select the treatment(s) that will have the most impact on your symptoms. Our holistic approach involves treating you as a whole person, not a body part for a more complete and lasting solution to your pain, so you get back to the things you need and want to do faster.
You won't waste time in the clinic on heat packs or ice packs and you won't be supervised doing the exercises you could be doing at home on your own time. You will have the full one on one attention of your therapist for the entire duration of your session. Your treatment won't be influenced by what an insurance company will pay for and you won't pay for generic advice. Your personalized treatment plan will/may include advanced hands on manual therapy, functional trigger point dry needling, Pilates exercises, movement and posture re-training as well as lifestyle tips to help you see progress at every visit.

Advanced Manual Therapy
The cornerstone of our philosophy at Inertia Physiotherapy is identification of the root cause of your problem. When appropriate, we address relevant restrictions through use of precise manual therapy techniques chosen to address the specific tissue in need of release.
During treatments we draw from a variety of advanced hands-on Manual Therapy techniques that are highly effective at addressing mobility in restricted joints, connective tissues, muscles, nerves and/or the visceral organs.
Manual Therapy frees up motion, restores posture and provides your body with an opportunity for change so you get back to the active lifestyle you desire as quickly as possible.

Rehabilitation Pilates
There are 5 basic principles that govern our Pilates based exercise instruction. Through teaching you to apply these 5 basic principles we help you restore a solid foundation for movement and posture that eases your pain, improves your mobility and translates to your daily life. Pilates is mindful exercise and is effective at repairing and replacing poor movement and postural habits that contribute to persistent pain and recurrent injuries.
We utilize Pilates based exercises at multiple stages of your treatment program and incorporate Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Core Align, barrels and other small equipment to find the right level challenge and provide you with a novel movement experience in the clinic.

You will also be instructed in home versions of exercises that can be done with little to no equipment.
Functional Dry Needling
Functional Dry Needling Trigger Point Therapy is an intermuscular therapy that treats myofascial pain with a thin monofilament needle. It involves insertion of a small needle into a specific area called a "trigger point." The trigger points are tender, irritable spots in fascia and muscles that refer pain in a reliable pattern and restrict movement.

Online Physical Therapy
We value our hands-on techniques however, just because you can't come to the clinic doesn't mean there's nothing you can do to help your pain. In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic we launched Telehealth services called Online Physical Therapy.

These sessions are perfect for individuals who need expert guidance on how to manage their injury or pain but don't feel comfortable coming into the clinic for treatment. It's easy to access an online session through our HIPPA compliant video portal on your personal computer, phone or tablet.
